About

The idea for this blog came to me when I was on a treacherous 2 day 22 mile backpacking trip in the temperate rainforest of New Zealand. Some things just don’t come easy, I guess. 🙂 I first began exploring the idea of narcissism after I realized that I had patterns of codependency that were developed from my childhood. The awaking arrived during the perfect storm of events in a certain point in my life: I was arriving at the age of real adulthood, was surrounded by narcissists from very prominent areas of my social life from friends/work/family/romantic relationships, and felt really empty and unstable inside. I decided to go on a journey of figuring out why.  From that point on, I’ve been doing a lot of personal work in dealing with codependency, self-worth issues brought on from growing up an Adult Child of a Narcissist (ACON) as a result from raised by a severely narcissistic father.

I spent a lot of time reading, thinking, and trying to understand this phenomenon. It has been a big part of my life and after years of speaking about it, I realized that people were interested. It explained to them someone that they knew or know. We are on the brink of narcissism being a household term, we are living in the age of technology where anyone can instantly feel like a celebrity. We see more and more narcissistic traits in popular figures from musicians to politicians. It’s time for all of these resources to come together, I thought, and for us to begin to rise above it.

Please feel free to reach out to me at anytime at EchosCornerBlog@gmail.com. I would love to hear from everyone.

Take care,

Anna
